Since it is the patronal feast of the United States, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, celebrated on December 8, is always a day of obligation. (When December 8 is a Sunday of Advent, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is moved to Monday, December 9, and the obligation remains.)

Welcome to St. Monica

A Message from our Pastor

Welcome to St. Monica Catholic Church website. We are so grateful for your visit. Established as a parish for the northwest corner of Indianapolis in 1957, St. Monica has been serving our community, both those who are Catholics and those who are not, through our spirit of hospitality, prayer, service and love. I stand on the shoulders of some amazing pastors and hope to continue their tradition of bringing the light and love of Christ to others in our corner of the world. Our amazing faith filled parishioners stand on the shoulders of countless previous parishioners, continuing to welcome people from all places and backgrounds. Together we strive to help all whom we encounter come to know God, our Catholic Faith, the truth that they are God’s beloved children.  As good stewards of all that we have been given we live our lives in gratitude to God. United in Faith we are One Body and share One Mission. If we can be of any help please let us know. We hope that you will visit us in person soon. May God bless you abundantly.

FORMED has content from over 60 apostolates, including Augustine Institute, Ignatius Press, and the Knights of Columbus, with material that is professionally produced, engaging, and solid in its catechism. Best of all, this material is free to you. Our parish will be using the material on FORMED to support our ministries and provide continuing education for staff members and parishioners, as well as outreach for our sick and homebound members. Much of FORMED’s content is available in both English and Spanish.
