http://www.khanacademy.org - Has over 2100 instructional videos, mostly math concepts. The site was created to help students move more at their own pace and be able to fill gaps in understanding before they move on. It’s free and it might be a cool resource, maybe side by side with Aleks. Kids could actually watch an instructional video or two on the skill they are working on.
