Legion of Mary
St. Monica Parish has a very active Legion of Mary group. They meet after the 12:30 Sunday Mass in the PMC 3 to recite the Rosary together. All are invited whether a member of the Legion or not.
From July 23 through July 31 the Legion of Mary participated in an evangelization movement in the neighborhoods around St. Monica. Legion members from areas such as Pennsylvania, Louisiana and Ohio came to help our members . The group was led by Mark Meyers, a member of the Brazil, IN Legion of Mary. Unfortunately, Mark passed away Sunday, August 23. We are sure that Mark was met at the pearly gates by a whole band of saints. He will be greatly missed, and we offer his family and friends our condolences.
Many parishioners who were unable to participate in this effort supported the group through their homemade dinners. Our evangelizers braved extremely warm temperatures and humidity in bringing the Lord to the neighborhood. Over 2,000 homes were visited. Neighbeors were invited to come to St. Monica if interested and told about the love of Jesus. Religious medals and rosaries were offered to them. Many of the neighbors were grateful for the prayers said with them and for them. To read more about the week, check out the article in the August 19 article of The Criterion writen by parishioner Natalie Hoefer.
