I grew up in the United Methodist tradition with two older brothers and a younger sister. I am so thankful and feel blessed that I grew up having the opportunity to learn about Jesus. I always knew that this foundation would be the cornerstone of who I am. I became Catholic after learning about the faith in the required class that I had to take to marry a Catholic and the rest is history! My husband and I have been married for 32 years. I love being Catholic!
Michael and I are blessed with having a son, daughter, son-in-law, 2 grandchildren and one on the way! By trade, I have been blessed with discovering the field of Occupational Therapy. I am currently employed full time in a township school system and feel called to share the gifts given to me with the students I serve. Michael and I have attended St. Monica for 28 of the 32 years we have been married. St. Monica is as a part of my home as the one I lay my head down in at night. At St. Monica God has blessed me in many ways. Small Faith Sharing Communities, Christ Renews His Parish, Youth Ministry, Sunday school and the highlight, Eucharistic Ministry have allowed me to serve others and attempt to allow God’s love flow through my actions. In this journey I discovered the Lectio Divina. What a blessing this has been in my life! This method of praying has assisted me in expanding my relationship with God and the way I respond to life’s challenges.
It is that relationship that leads me to the St. Monica Reflection team. My daily talks with God have supported, encouraged, nudged, challenged and loved me through many stages of living. I most humbly accept the challenge set before me to share the insights given to me with you. I pray that God’s spirit within me touches the spirit within you through these reflections.
