May Altars and Special May 30 May Crowning
posted on May 8, 2017
One great habit for making room for Christ in our homes is to make room for Mary. Mary’s willingness to say “yes” to God, her disposition to allow the Spirit to work in her and her life, and her fidelity and love as a human mother of God make her the greatest of all disciples and a model for us all. At St. Monica we invite you to make a prayer area in your own home, for the month of May: include a statue of Mary, perhaps a candle and fresh flowers, perhaps a crucifix. Gather as a family every evening before bed and pray together one decade of the rosary. Then, join your brothers and sisters at St. Monica for our final May Crowning.
This final May Crowning will be with the Youth Group and their families. All who have been/soon will be Baptized, Confirmed, or celebrate First Communion, are invited to gather for the LAST day of May as whole families, Tuesday May 30, in the church at 7:00 pm, wearing your First Communion and Baptismal clothing. Bring with you a picture from your “May altar” and we will post pictures in the Church and on our Website. Please contact Daniel Neri or Anne Corcoran in the Parish Office for more information.
