Lynne Brennan

By Mel Ullrich

I joined the reflection ministry at St. Monica Parish in June of 2013 with the encouragement of my husband, John, and Dede Swinehart.
I am a cradle Catholic.  Until I was 14, my family was part of St. Mary’s Parish, a small Franciscan community in Metamora, IL.  The nLynnBrennanext eight years included several parishes while in high school in Morton, IL, and at Illinois State University.  Early adulthood included three more parishes until John and I landed at St. Monica in 1986.  We have been here ever since.
I am Child of God, wife to John (30 years), mother to Kevin, Julie, Nathan and Amy, and mom-in-training to Janie and Eric (Kevin’s and Julie’s spouses).  I’m caretaker to two dogs, a guinea pig and much of the wildlife found in our backyard).  I also spend time as a quality analyst, medical writer, cook, baker, writer, sewer, walker, kayaker, reader, and traveler -- generally in that order.
I have been blessed to do my spiritual “growing up” in this Parish.  I have been involved in youth ministry leadership, school commission, CRHP, Small Church Communities (as a member since 1992 and in lay leadership for 9 years), and other school and parish volunteer activities.  During this time, I’ve developed skills as a facilitator for retreats and days of reflection.  I enjoy sharing life and faith with my community and others.
Involvement in this ministry is humbling on many levels.  My prayer will remain that the God in me is able to reach out and touch the God in you in the way that He would will it.  I look forward to praying with all of you through this ministry.
