I am a proud – and grateful – cradle Catholic. My faith journey has taken me from whining about going to church, to contemplating religious life, to begging God, to a reluctant spot in the pew on Sunday, to the overwhelming peace of knowing that God’s in control. So, basically, I’m pretty normal.
My husband Mike and I have been married for 21 years and have been members at St. Monica for 22 years. Mike joined the Catholic Church in 1996. My mother said the good Lord must have meant for us to evangelize!
We have three children – Annie, Charlie and Robbie, all of whom went (or in Rob’s case still go) to St. Monica School. In most of my memories of life over the past 20 years, St. Monica Church is there. I have been a part of the SCC program, a catechist for the Special Religious Education Program, CRHP, the Arts & Environment Committee, and was the parish bulletin editor for 7 years.
In my day job, I work as a communications manager for the University of Indianapolis, and do a little freelance writing as well.
I come to this reflection ministry feeling as though I am maturing in my faith, finally in a spot where I have reached the verdant pasture and am waiting to see where God will call me next. Thank you for being part of my journey.
Peace to your day.
